About Me

Sometimes life has a way of feeling overwhelming and overgrown, don’t you think? We get stuck and tangled in weeds of old habits, choked by the vines of worries and neglect, or even forget that we have seeds of knowledge buried deep inside of us that are waiting to bloom and show their beauty to the world.

The Garden Inside is a blog that I am building with a simple, powerful belief: That our minds, hearts, bodies, and souls are like gardens. They need maintenance, nurturing, patience, and practice to thrive.

Here we are learning how to become patient gardeners while getting to know more of ourselves in the process.

We take time to explore how to till the soil of our past for better nurturing of our growth, plant seeds of intention, and pull the weeds of self-doubt, while pushing ourselves and reaching new heights along the way.

As you walk through this garden, you’ll find a few key areas we cultivate together:

  • Tilling the Soil: Where we explore our pasts and dig up old foundations to create new ones for growth.
  • Planting Seeds: Our space for creating new habits, setting powerful intentions, and taking the first step.
  • Weeding & Pruning: This is where we do the necessary work of letting go of what no longer serves us.
  • The Greenhouse: A cozy corner dedicated to the joy of houseplants and hobbies, and the simple lessons they teach us.
  • Daily Watering: A collection of small, consistent practices to nurture your mind and soul every day.

So now, you might be asking… Who is this gardener behind all of these posts?

You can call me Tarlow, the gardener.

While brainstorming how I wanted to share all of this information, I realized I wanted to stay anonymous here. My reason is that my focus is on the messages themselves, the garden. Not the gardener.

The growth and practices are what matter here, not who I am or what I wear, or how many cars I drive (if you really want to know how many cars I drive, that answer is zero).

But here are a few facts I can tell you about myself. I am not a guru or some expert with all the answers. I am just a student of my own life, in the classroom we all share. A wanderer and traveler who has walked through the overgrown, neglected gardens of my creation and over time, I have slowly learned how to find the light back in my garden.

I feel we all have a superpower that is waiting to be unveiled. And mine is transforming the mud and mess I’ve walked through into seeds that might help other gardens grow.

I’m so glad you found my blog. The best place to start is with the first post I published on the blog, “The Doorknob: A 10-Second Habit to Change Your Entire Day”. It’s the perfect example of one of the small, powerful seeds we plant here.
